These calculators are a useful reference for anyone who needs to compute nuclear fuel prices or content. Nuclear fuel prices are derived from several interlocking variables, notably the market (or contract) prices for its different components (uranium, conversion and enrichment services), the level to which the fuel will be enriched and the processing effort (measured in Separative Work Units, or SWU) required in the enrichment process. Once a target assay for the fuel is entered, specifying a tails assay will determine both the quantity of uranium and the quantity of SWU needed to produce 1 kg of enriched fuel. The Feed/SWU Content calculators are set up to calculate 1 kg U or multiple kg U or SWU.
