Natural Uranium
As one of the world's largest traders of uranium, NUKEM can provide natural uranium as either U308 or UF6 to suit customer preferences, with the required combination of origin, payment and delivery terms. In addition, we can provide long-term contracts. Our multiple supply sources include the reliable and proven mining operations of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company in Uzbekistan, Kazatomprom in Kazakhstan, and Tenex in Russia.
NUKEM’s U3O8 is fully compliant with ASTM specifications [C967-02 (2004)]. Payment terms can be optimized to meet customer preferences.
UF6 can be supplied against ASTM specifications [C787-03]. Payment terms can be optimized to meet customer preferences. [NUKEM, under a long-term deal, can supply up to 1 million kgs annually of UF6 derived from the down-blending of Russian warhead HEU.]
EUP
NUKEM can supply Enriched Uranium Product in the form of U02 or UF6 that meets all quality criteria for nuclear fuel manufacturing. NUKEM can provide substantial customer benefits by delivering either form of EUP to the chosen fuel fabricator.
Enriched UF6 can be supplied against ASTM C996-04 or as a non-conforming (up to 500 ppm of U236) material.
NUKEM offers enriched U02 which is a high-quality DU (produced by the Ammonium Diuranate process) powder, which satisfies all criteria for density and chemical purity needed for nuclear fuel designs. ASTM for enriched/natural U02 powder compliant with ASTM C753-04, as well as enriched/natural U02 pellets compliant with ASTM C776-00.
Conversion Services & SWU
NUKEM can supply both spot and long-term conversion services and SWU.
Reprocessed Uranium
NUKEM and the ULBA Metallurgical facility in Kazakhstan can offer flexible options for reprocessed Uranium pellet production, making economic use of RepU.
