Techsnabexport (Tenex), Russia

NUKEM has enjoyed close cooperation with Techsnabexport (“Tenex”) since the early 1970’s, and indeed was among the first Western buyers of Tenex’s products and services. Tenex was formed in 1963, and today serves as the foreign trade organization within the Russian Federal Agency for Atomic Energy responsible for the export of a wide range of nuclear products and services. In addition to its role in commercial implementation of the historic HEU-LEU Agreement on behalf of the Russian Government Executive Agent, Tenex is a key supplier of enrichment services to the world nuclear fuel market.

The scope of NUKEM’s trade relationship with Tenex has expanded considerably over the past five years to include natural UF6 through the HEU Feed Component Agreement, conversion services through a long term supply contract, and cooperation on supply of enriched uranium product and enrichment services to nuclear utilities in strategic markets.

NUKEM is actively cooperating with Tenex in seeking the removal of restrictions in the sale of uranium products and services of Russian origin.  NUKEM is a member of the U.S.-Russia Business Council.
